DeVigier Award 2007 goes to NCCR scientists
The NCCR spin-off Redbiotec was awarded with the deVigier Award 2007. This prize supports start-up companies in the commercialization of innovative business ideas with promising market potential. The prize is one of the most prestigeous industrial sponsorship awards in Switzerland.

Zurich, June 29, 2007 (pst). The start-up company Redbiotec AG commercializes the multiprotein expression system "Mulitbac", which was developed in the ETH research group of Professor Timothy Richmond by NCCR scientists Dr. Imre Berger and Dr. Dan Fitzgerald.

The patented technology allows the production of large, human protein complexes, and bears a great potential for targeted drug development. The company that started its business in 2006 is headed by Dr. Corinne John as the CEO, and Mr. Christian Schaub as the President of the Board.

The prize award ceremony took place June 28 in Solothurn. The company had already won the second prize of the 2006 Venture Business Plan Competition and the 2007 Swiss Technology Award.
