This course is supported by the European Union Marie Curie Conferences and Training Courses Grant "EMBNTrain". Within this grant, a limited number of fellowships is available for junior scientists. Successful candidates of a grant application will profit from:

  • full relief from course fees
  • full coverage of accommodation costs during the course week (5 nights in a shared double room in the course hotel, including meals).
  • support towards documented travel costs (limited by a distance-dependent maximum amount).
Am I eligible for a fellowship?
You may be eligible for a fellowship, if you answer the following two questions with yes:
1. Do you have an university degree that entitles you to embark on doctoral studies?
2. Do you have less than 10 years of research experience?

Within this frame, there are two groups of eligible candidates:
Early-stage researchers are candidates without a doctoral degree and less than 4 years of research experience since their diploma/master's degree.
Experienced researchers are candidates with at least 4 years of research experience, and/or a PhD degree. In any case, candidates must have less than 10 years of experience.
The type of fellowship is identical for both groups, however, priority will be given to candidates from group 1 in case of more applications than grants.

In agreement with EU guidelines we would like to particularly encourage women scientists to participate and to apply for financial support.

Please note that this information is indicative to help you decide whether to apply for a fellowship or not. The decision regarding both your acceptance to the course as well as the provision of a fellowship will be made by the course supervisors according to the detail information given in your written application.

How can I apply for a fellowship?
Just proceed to the online application for the course. All necessary details are given there for fellowship applications also. The application deadline for a fellowship is September 12, as for the course itself. If you have any question, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Can I apply for the course if I am not eligible for an EU Fellowship?

Yes. Please note that priority will be given to candidates belonging to group 1 or 2 in case of overbooking of the course. Non-eligible candidates will attend the course at their own cost/support. NCCR Members and NCCR Industry Partners who are not eligible for an EU Fellowship would be reliefed from course fees.
